Weddings
Planning your wedding day can take many months of preparation. Since receptions are our specialty we would love to help ease some of your stress. We provide more than just entertainment - we serve as your reception coordinator by organizing every detail with your venue, photographer, and videographer. All formalities such as the cake cutting, toast, bouquet toss, etc are announced so that everyone can be a part of your reception and not just a guest.
Ladies and Gentlemen...
Your reception begins when the first guest arrives. While we anticipate the arrival of the wedding party, your emcee will make simple announcements such as welcoming your guests, informing them about restroom facility locations, and cocktail/dinner plans. During that time your DJ will play soft music such as jazz or love songs - it's your choice. Once the wedding party arrives we will introduce the Grand Entrance, upon request. Depending on how your reception has been planned the other formalities such as the First Dance, Parent's Dance, Cake Cutting, etc... are soon to follow.
Everyone On The Dance Floor...
Throughout the reception we will interact with your guests by teaching dances or performing games such as the Money Dance, Generations Dance, etc... If you don't want the extra activities then that is no problem. Once again - it's your choice. We do pride ourselves on making sure that everyone at the reception is having a good time!
Music For Everyone...
Music is the most important part of any reception and we are here to please. At every event we bring a database of over 140,000 songs. You can choose anything from the 1920's and up. Our music genres include (but are not limited to) Oldies, Classic Rock, Disco, Funk, Old School, Retro, Top 40, Dance, Alternative, Country, Rock, Rap, R&B, Techno, and more! Your DJ will also take requests from your guests as long as it is within the same context of what you have chosen. We will not play any songs containing explicit or degrading lyrics.
Ceremony Service
Brock Entertainment is also available to perform the music for your ceremony. We have numerous selections of traditional and non-traditional wedding music to choose from. We will bring our own sound system if there is not one available for use at the church or location of the wedding ceremony.
If you are considering doing an "iPod Reception", read this and think again.

Why Choosing A DJ Is Important
When brides and grooms contact me about prices, many make the decision about entertainment based solely upon what a vendor will charge. The point of hiring a DJ is not just so you can have music at your wedding. Even if you have music at your reception, your Ipod, and even many mobile and bar Dj's, don't anticipate how different songs, even familiar, popular tunes on the radio, will affect people on a minute-by-minute basis, in a distinct social environment like a wedding. You need a DJ because your guests need to feel comfortable and enjoy your reception. Even if you do not believe you need an expert to manage your ceremony and reception, your guests do, and even if they think they don't now, they will on the day of your reception. If you are having a crowd of around 100 guests or more at your wedding, and you want them to stick around, have a good time, and participate, you need a DJ, and you also need some basic equipment they will bring. First, you need someone who can navigate through dinner and make confident announcements regarding first dances, cake cutting, etc. in a candid, paced, smooth way so your guests can relax and always have something to look forward to. Your best friend or a bar DJ is not the person for this job. Many of the cheesy mobile DJ's out there with fake personalities are not appropriate either. You need someone who has experience dj-ing at least dozens, if not hundreds of weddings. Timing, social sensitivity, and composure is everything when it comes to handling a large crowd made up of your close friends and family.
