BROCK ENTERTAINMENT FAQ
Reservations and Payment
How do I reserve your services?
Start by checking your date and sharing the event details you know. We will send a personalized proposal. Your signed agreement and the required retainer officially reserve your date.
How far do you travel?
Northwest Arkansas is home, and our core service area reaches roughly 100 miles into Southwest Missouri, Springfield, Branson and Northeast Oklahoma. We also travel anywhere for the right event.
How much do you cost?
Pricing depends on the date, location, event length, entertainment needs and equipment required. Send us your details and we will provide a clear personalized quote by email.
How much is the deposit?
The retainer amount is listed clearly in your proposal and agreement. It is required with the signed agreement to reserve your date.
Is the deposit an additional charge?
No. Your retainer is applied toward the total amount shown in your agreement.
Will I receive a contract?
Yes. Every reservation includes a written agreement that clearly explains the services, payment schedule and event details.
Is gratuity included in my price?
Gratuity is not automatically included unless your proposal specifically states otherwise. It is always optional and should reflect your experience.
What is average gratuity?
There is no required amount. Clients who choose to tip usually base it on the entertainer’s preparation, professionalism and impact on the event.
Can I pay my balance before my event?
Yes. You may pay the remaining balance early. Your agreement and client portal will show the available payment options.
When is the final payment due?
The exact due date appears in your agreement and client portal so there are no surprises.
When do you need my contract returned?
Dates remain available until the signed agreement and retainer are received. Returning them promptly is the only way to secure your date.
BROCK ENTERTAINMENT FAQ
Equipment
What kind of sound equipment will the DJ have?
We use professional sound systems selected for the room, guest count and event format. Your proposal will identify any specialized equipment your event requires.
Is lighting included with my reservation?
Dance floor lighting is included with many event packages. Your proposal will show exactly what is included and any available upgrades.
Do you have experience with venues where quality audio is difficult?
Yes. We have worked in ballrooms, barns, outdoor spaces, gyms, convention spaces and unique regional venues. We plan speaker placement and system size around the actual room.
Is your music digital?
Yes. Our professional digital libraries allow fast access, clean organization and flexible music programming throughout the event.
Can you provide music in multiple locations?
Yes. We can plan separate sound systems for ceremonies, cocktail spaces, receptions, breakout areas and other locations when needed.
How much space does the DJ need?
The footprint depends on the service and equipment. A safe, level area near power is usually required. We coordinate space needs before the event.
What should I consider for an outdoor reception?
A firm level setup area, reliable power and complete protection from rain, wind and direct weather exposure are essential. We will review the specific plan with you.
Can your equipment support a large event?
Yes. We scale the sound system for the venue and expected attendance. Large or complex events may require additional speakers, subwoofers, microphones or dedicated production support.
BROCK ENTERTAINMENT FAQ
Planning
What is provided for dinner music?
We create background music that fits the atmosphere and lets guests comfortably visit. You may share preferences or let your entertainer build the right mix.
How do I communicate event details and requests?
Your online planning tools keep music, announcements, timing and important details organized. Our team is also available by email when you need guidance.
When do I need to complete my planning forms?
Complete them by the deadline shown in your client portal. Earlier is helpful, but you may continue refining details as your plans develop.
What is the music planner?
It is your place to share must plays, do not plays, special songs, announcements and the musical direction you want for the event.
What if I want a song that is not on the music list?
Tell us. The list is a planning aid, not a limit. We can prepare requested music in advance when a legal, event appropriate version is available.
What if I need help choosing special songs?
We are happy to help. Our experience at hundreds of events gives us plenty of ideas, and the Vibe Check can help define your musical direction.
Can I customize dinner music?
Absolutely. You may choose a style, share favorite artists or provide specific selections.
How many songs fit into a four hour dance?
The exact number varies with song length, mixing and the flow of the room. Usually only a fraction of a large request list can fit, so priorities matter.
How many requests should I make?
Choose enough favorites to show us your taste without scripting every minute. Must plays, do not plays and a flexible group of favorites give us the best direction.
Do I need to request music for the entire event?
No. Give us your priorities and preferences, then let your entertainer read the room and build the night in real time.
Can I exclude music or traditions I do not want?
Yes. Your do not play list and planning notes are taken seriously. We will never force an activity simply because it is traditional.
Can you help plan events outside Northwest Arkansas?
Yes. We routinely serve the wider Ozarks and travel for destination events. We plan logistics, timing and equipment around the location.

Are we required to feed the DJ?
For longer events that span a meal period, a vendor meal is appreciated and may be addressed in your agreement.
Do I need to provide a hotel?
Most events in our core area do not require lodging. Destination events or schedules involving significant late night travel may require accommodations, which will be discussed in advance.
Will my DJ make announcements?

Does the DJ take breaks?
Music and event coverage continue throughout the contracted time. Our entertainers manage personal needs without interrupting the experience.
What if my DJ gets sick?
One advantage of hiring a team is depth. We maintain backup plans, shared event information and qualified entertainers so an emergency does not leave you without professional coverage.
